Even as a child,
I was fascinated by
the beauty and precision of steel engraving.
When I was
approached to
design this poster
for the Ybor City Historic District,
I knew I would pay homage to that wonderful art form.
This poster was not steel engraved, it just borrows heavily from that school. All the scroll work was done by hand with a Rapidograph, but I studied old stock
and bond certificates
to get the proper feel.
